Awareness Creation and New Initiatives
A strong support is being accorded by the Ministry for expanding awareness
of the potential of this emerging technology. During the year, seven
Business Meets / Training Programmes, for creating awareness amongst
energy auditors and other stakeholders were organised in Delhi, Kolkata,
Raipur, Indore, Chennai, Vallabh Vidyanagar and Guwahati. five other
Business Meets were sanctioned for the States of Rajasthan, Orissa,
Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Arunachal Pradesh. Consequent to the notification
of the Energy Conservation Act, energy auditors have an important role
to play in convincing industrial consumers on the effectiveness of energy
saving technologies. Training and awareness programmes for energy auditors
on effectiveness of energy saving technologies have been extremely well
received and the impact is already being noticed.
